Informal fallacies

  • Informal fallacies are errors in the content of an argument. They occur when the premises of an argument are false, irrelevant, or not supported by evidence. For example, the argument "I saw a UFO last night, so UFOs must exist" is an informal fallacy because the premise (that the person saw a UFO) is not supported by evidence.
