Tenzing Norgay
(1953): Tenzing Norgay was a Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer who, along with Sir Edmund Hillary, was one of the first two people to successfully reach the summit of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. Norgay was born in Nepal and grew up in the Solu-Khumbu region, which is home to many of the world's highest mountains, including Mount Everest. He became a professional mountaineer and worked as a guide on several expeditions to Mount Everest before finally reaching the summit in 1953 with Hillary. Norgay's climb of Mount Everest is considered one of the greatest achievements in mountaineering history.
