How is a real time operating system different from distributed operating system?

A distributed OS provides the essential services and functionality required of an OS, adding attributes and particular configurations to allow it to support additional requirements such as increased scale and availability. To a user, a distributed OS works in a manner similar to a singlenode, monolithic operating system. That is, although it consists of multiple nodes, it appears to users and applications as a single-node. A real time operating system is intended to serve real-time application process data as it comes in, typically without buffering delays. Processing time requirements (including any OS delay) are measured in tenths of seconds or shorter.
